Solar and Battery Power Future-Proof a 170-Acre Visitor Attraction

ESP Energy delivered a comprehensive renewable energy and electrical infrastructure upgrade for Bodenham Arboretum, a 170-acre family-run visitor attraction. The project combined a 162kW solar PV installation with a 96kWh battery storage system, helping the business generate, store and use more of its own renewable electricity.

The project also included a complete upgrade from multiple single-phase supplies across the estate to a new 400A three-phase incoming supply. ESP Energy managed the electrical design, National Grid applications, trenching, infrastructure upgrades, solar and battery installation, and new distribution equipment—all while keeping the Arboretum open to the public.
